I talked with a cabela's rep. today about the herters foam decoys.They have been discontinued.I expressed my disappointment asked if they would reconsider making the herter and restle foams again. My main interest is the un-painted bodies and that a lot of hunters enjoy customizing these decoys to suit their needs. I have birds that are 40 years old,they are traditional,i hate to see them fall victim to chinese plastics. The answer i received was encouraging it seems that cabela's is sensitive to this type request if it is possible. So if you have a desire to see these products back in production call cabela's ask to speak with a product specialist or customer service person and request that they return to the catalog if only on a limited scale. If there is enough interest they may come back. Please pass this on currently this is the only site i am registered on. THANKS,Bill.
 

i'd be surprised if you could change their mind. cabelas has grown too big, they're more interested in volume than quality.
 
I think that if anyone is interested, they should email the company and ask for just the blanks to be put back into production. That way they have fewer oine items that they have to stock. Makes it an easier business choice for them. Just a suggestion. Could work if enough people try.

The problem with Herter's decoys is they last too long. Kind of like that gum commercial where the gum doesn't wear out and people stop buying it, since they don't need any more than what they have.
 
Thanks for the feed back fellas.Sterny,we discussed possibly taking orders or limited production runs. Dave C. and Lou, i would love to do just that but i fear i am too long in the tooth and too short of cash why don't you two guys make the deal and i will work for you. Bill.
 
In reference to the feb.26 post it now seems that cabelas will continue the herters line,what has been discontinued is the unpainted decoy bodies.will have to wait for the new catalog to know for sure.f.y.i. Bill.
