Looking at possibly buying a newer camera for me, specifically a Canon EOS Digital Rebel DS6041 and the option on the following lenses comes with it.

Canon 18-55mm lens
-Canon 100-300 lens
-Canon Speedlite 430ex

Price is pretty good from what I can tell, but overall have you guys had any bad experiences with this model or any of the lenses?

What would you think the whole package would be worth or what would you consider a fair price?

Thanks.

I am a professional photographer and own a retail photography business... never heard of that model (DS6041). The Canon Rebels listed on www.usa.canon.com are the T3i, T2i, T1i, XSi, T3 and XS.

All of the Canon EOS SLR's are great cameras, and the other items you mentioned are good as well. It seems like a good consumer level package.

I cant tell you what the price should be unless I know what camera body you are looking at. I can tell you the 100-300mm lens is around $500, the 75-300mm lenses are a bit cheaper and the flash is around $300.

If you are planning on taking this camera with you duck hunting, invest in a water tight Pelican case... mine has saved me more than once and I can tell you from experience that after they float, the cameras come out dry!

Eric,
I asked here a while back and got some great advice.
I was interested in the better grade glass and just found that it was not in my budget.
BUT I bought a Cannon Rebel EOS and it came with the basic efs18-55 lens. I waited till the next birthday to gift my wife the efs55-250 lens.
Both have stabilization.
Let me say that I have taken the best photos of my portfolio with that camera. It meters well and can do way more than I know how to get it to do. If I stay in around the 200mm setting on the zoom the pictures are very good. Not a, "Stop a duck in flight" lens but very good for dog, kid, boat, shots. Way past any point and shoot.

Good luck

Bob

thanks guys,

I will have to check on the body listing, not sure about cameras which is why I am asking for help.

thanks again.
