I did some scouting this weekend and found a spot that was holding a bunch of Cans, Ringnecks, Bluebills (there may have been others but that was all I could see through the glasses). What I can not figure out is WHY THEY WERE THERE. There is nothing special about the spot, it is not a point/cove that provides protection and the food is no different than anywhere else on the lake. I checked the lake depths and it is near a drop off but so are a lot of other places.
They may have just sat down there and will never be back but I'm going to have to give it a try.
Why don't the spots that look "ducky" ever pan out but blank spot like this holds birds?
I just hope the jerk who was running into coves and blasting did not spot them!! If I had the phone number to the game warden, I would of been calling.
