Canvas cover for my perrine build

The shop where i have been building/ restoring my 16 ft perrine sneakbox in was supposed to be its winter home, till my buddy came home from work and the wife told him she wants a divorce, so now i will have no choice but to keep the boat outside at times during the season. I stopped at a couple canvas shops to get quotes for canvas all season covers. Everyone at the shops have been telling me to go with a material called " topgun" its breathable to a point but told me its the only real cover for winter. I was told that sunbrella is a better product but once water freezes on it, it opens the pores and it will no longer be waterproof again. What are everyones thoughts? The boat is 16 ft long 6 ft wide. Quote for cover made of topgun was 900.

Jay, can you use one of the temporary shelters... a 10x20 is what I use.... the only issues are the tarps break down after 4 or 5 years and need to be replaced, and snow needs to be cleared every few inches. I just added a floor (free hardwood pallets and plywood) to keep me out of the mud. Keeps all the duck boat stuff out of the weather, close at hand and maybe looks better to the neighbors than all the accumulated stuff. I added a 4ft shop light and extension cord, so I have some light to empty the boat after a hunt, and a place for the battery charger. I just roll the boat in, and mess with it at my leisure, regardless of the weather. To dry mine out a suspend a box fan on a couple poles over the cockpit for a day or 2 after each hunt.
