I have a friend at my duck camp that put a long tail on his. One day it flipped him out and capsized......very suddenly. It should be noted he was standing and weighed....a lot. He was in the water for an hour before someone came along. They towed the boat back upside down and he lost his new Benelli.
I hunted a Carsten Bluebill for several years.....even on the Mississippi. I think a short-tail, surface drive like a Copperhead would be better because of less torque. However, if you are moving at good rate......be very careful when making any tight turns......on purpose or by accident. As a general rule, mud motors and V-bottom boats are not a good match.
