I will be in Centreville the weekend of the 22nd for a wedding. Are there any hunting-related museums, shops, etc. that I should check out? Bar and restaurant recommendations are also welcomed. Thanks.

Mike

the ward museum in salisbury or the waterfowl museum in have de grace. The jetty on sunday for t-shirt contest if still doing it (has cooled of some here). Couple of good sports bars in centerville area. Not much else i can think of duck related. But everywhere you go over here you will see signs of it's importance. If i think of more i'll write back

Two decoy shops come to mind.
Both deal in collectibles and pretty much look like museums.
One's in Easton and the other is in Cambridge. I know that the one in Easton opened as a result of a falling out between owners. Don't know if either are still open. A quick perusal of the internet showed a place in Cambridge called Canvasback Decoy Gallery. Don't know anything about that place.
There a great waterfront restaurant called Snappers in Cambridge. Remember there being some pretty good eating places in Oxford, just a little southwest of Easton, too.

Go to Harris' Crab House at the Kent Island Narrows. Have the Cream of crab soup and anything else. You won't regret it. As for duck stuff you could go shoot sporting clays or drive around Kent or Queen Anne Counties and look at the infamous goose hunting clubs and estates.

Hi Mike. I grew up just down the road from there on Kent Island and went to school in Centerville. Not much decoy/hunting stuff doing in Centerville. North of there in Havre de Grace there are couple of good stores and a museum. In Easton, if you walk around you will see some decoys here and there. On Tilghman Island, about 20 minutes south of Easton is the Tilghlman Island Country Store. Great baked goods and a half dozen of my decoys for sale in there. The Ward Museum in Salisbury is an hour+ down the road, although very interesting. In The Carpenter Street Saloon in St Micheals there are quite a few Madison Mitchell decoys hanging up and around in the place. Drapers Liquor Store in Centerville, right on Md 213 has a bunch of neat old guns hanging on the walls. You can't touch them, but they are neat to look at. The Maritime Museum in St Micheals is pretty neat. They showcase the seafood industry and touch on the importance of waterfowling. St Micheals now has their own brewery. I forget what its called but the beer is good. Tours and sampling. Its on the right just as you get into town.

Go north out of Centerville on 213 and you will come to Chestertown. I believe Remington Farms is right near by, altough its been years since I've been there. At one time you were allowed to drive through on a self guided tour. Maybe you still can. I'd call first.

As far as The Jetty in Grasonvile, even an old fart like me got hit on there. 'Nuff said. Several friends that are still in the area always comment favorably on the Tiki Bar in Kent Knarrows. Its only a mile or so down the road from the Jetty.

If you want to see some serious money, rent a speed boat in St Mich's and take a tour up the Miles River. As you come back down it towards St Mich's, turn right at the island and go up Hunting Creek. Very Pretty, Very Ducky.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Hopefully I'll have some time to check out some of these places.

George, it would be quite an honor to see the shop. If I can get away, I'll try to get in touch to see if you're around.

just an offer--Better bring a hazmat suit if you come over!! hehehheh. A lot of my stuff and a few old things i picked up eons ago, before old stuff became too fashionable, and too costly, for me, anyway.
