Hello to all And Merry Christmas. I haven,t done much posting on here but have read enough from others to beleive there may be some interest in this ad on Craigs List( Eastern Shore Of Maryland). Molds and Equip. for sale to build 16'-18' 20' Chincoteague Scows . I,m Pertty sure these are the boats that were produced on eastern shore of virginia by chesapeake boat works. Use to own an 18" myself and it was a great boat. Hope someone can make use of this info and continue the tradition of a great eastern shore boat.

Prior to the price popularity of carolina skiffs these basic hulls were used commercially here. Of course many have also been tricked out with cntr. consoles, leaning posts , towers ,etc. Not really what that hull was intended for in my opinion. Working hull, good duck boat hull in our bays, Simple inshore fishing platform that would take you there and back in times you probably should have come back sooner. Hardly any used in our area now due to the priceing and weight carrying capacity of carolina skiffs. But damn that chinc. scow cutting across the water is so much better lookin than a carolina skiff. in our area a few of the chesapeake boat works scows come on craigs list every year.

Roy, Tried to locate a builder in Exmore years ago. He had moved to a building on the west side of 13. Left a message there, never heard anything.
Spent some time in Pocomoke City at the sporting clays range there. We go to Ocean City for the Worlds every year... Always check out the blinds when driving through the area...

Pertty sure the builder in exmore is the same one whose molds are being sold. Business moved to different location and changed hands few years back but is in same general area. May have bumped into you at Fairs in Pocomoke. We use to shoot there most sunday mornings if hunting season wasn,t in.

I think I know that boat, Friend of mine has either the 16 or 18, but pretty sure it's the 16. Frankly, I wouldn't own one. It's pretty, but very tippy and can't hold any weight, floods over the transom.
There's a reason the CS has taken over. :)

Never considered the 18' i had as tippy but they are shallow draft boats and the smaller they were I guess some people may have felt that way. They were a wet ride though in rough seas and right behind the windshield on a cntr. console was the only spot you weren,t going to get doused.
