Coastal Maine Trip 12/5/2015

Thanks guys. Means a lot.

Dave, I was down your way in September. I was wondering if there were many places to duck hunt. While kayaking in lady bird, we had two mallards swim right up to us. I said to my wife, it didn't look like they've been gunned very hard down here lol.

John, get that bankes up and running and we'll go.

Didn't get a great pic, but we did all sign the bottom. Including Steve, as he was technically part of the trip.

There are always mallards, woodies, and swans on that lake. About now it's probably got a lot of birds that stopped their migration there, gadwalls and wigeon mostly.

Austin is kind of a dry hole for duck hunting. Halfway between here and Houston are large areas of rice farming that I have got on gun clubs before. Specklebellies and snows, along with just-at-legal pintails over the goose spread. I'm not on that club anymore so most all of my hunting is redheads on the coast. About a 4 hr drive with gas stops.

Good morning, Tom~

I am so glad you all had a fine expedition - and honored to have my name on that fine Eider of yours. It surely looks great on the water.

All the best,

SJS
