Gadwall drake that won the Washington State Decoy Contest held at the DU STate Convention this past weekend. From the point totals that I heard he didn't just win, he smoked the competition.....

Making it even neater was that he was herer in the State when he won.....At the time he was up at about 6,000 feet in the middle of an Elk Reserve with Fred Slyfield, Gregg Kurz, Louie Pantkoek, Rob Armejo and myself watching Elk, eating Elk, and enjoying some spectacular scenary between carving sessions.

A great weekend for us carvers, and a neat win for Jason.....hopefully he'll post a picture of his bird....and maybe a picture or two of the results of the carving weekend.

Thanks Steve for the plug. I had a great time carving, eating,eating,and seeing a different world. Her is the Gaddy. I will also post Elk,pics of the group and scenery

Hows come the only one with paint on their leg has shorts on? All my jeans have paint on them..my wife LOOOOve's me.
 
Geez, any self-respecting Druid would cover up them vanilla white legs! And, notice that Steve is the only guy in the photo with a non-serious look on his face. You look like you are about to do a Jerry Lewis impersonation, "Heey Laadddyy!"

Steve can have a good time when everyone else is pissed off..more than likely..they are pissed off at him.
 
This is because I was so selflessly making sure that all of the other carvers, and the teacher, weere adequately supplied with beverages, food, and carving supplies.....so here's I am running my fingers to the nubs on behalf of everyone else and thats this is the thanks I get.....WHAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa nobody loves me, or my tungsten sinkers and copper bullets....

Nathan, if Jason reads this maybe he'll post the picture of my BRIGHT RED legs....you'd think someone from Florida would know when he was in danger of sunburn....NOT ME....trust me, there's lots of FIRE ENGINE RED under the deep layer of sun block on those lilly white les.....

Lee, Jason was using his pants leg as his pallet.....Fred's Chessie was shedding his undercoat most of which was attached to Jasons painted pants legs....by the end of the painting session he looked like he was wearing a pair of wooly sheep skin chaps.....

Congrats on the win. Great looking decoy. Sure is a lot of talent around here.
