None of these things would be much for its own thread so I'm putting them all in one post.

Boiled up that freaky elk skull on my fancy soup maker. Now that its clean I can't tell any reason why that one pedicle is in a weird location.

Ms Wilson looking as eager as ever. I believe this is her 9th season, and is really showing her age. Two or three launches out of the boat and that's about it for her.

Sunset over Charles Marsh's Lake. How do you get a lake named after you in a foreign country when you were never even there?

Fried up a turkey last weekend for the Hoser Thanksgiving. You can never have enough plaid can you?

Saved the wings and heart for after the big turkey was done, and added a nice fat mallard I'd shot the night before. It was SO good.

Brandon that thing was in there for only a few minutes! It was pink and juicy inside, not overdone at all. I would totally do that agin, but just with a macaroni pot sized vessel instead. Maybe get the oil up to temp on the stove inside then move it to the side burner on the barbq to keep the splattering outdoors?

Duck breasts with the skin on would be a cinch to do too, and I think a guy could reuse the oil many times with the flavour just getting better. I've got a fair amount of bear lard so far this year (2 1/2 black bears in the freezer) and have been using it for doing big fish fry, but it'd be great to do ducks in.

What a great selection of shots, Mike. You are right about "plaid" especially when I think of the God given environment that you live in! The sunset was stunning.
