I responded to John via his pm only because i was in a rush this evening and that was quickest way to respond to his questions . So that you are in the know, John asked about the modifications i made to my Cackler and i responded to John as follows . I made a few mods to my cackler 1 was to add a deck overhang to allow water to be pushed away from the front deck in following seas , 2nd was to move the motor transom back to the normal position rather than use the motor well as on the plans . I also advised him to try to put his fuel tank in the front compartment to leave room for decoys and a dog ladder in the rear compartment . thes few things have worked well for myself and hopefully i was able to answer some of Johns questions . I apologize to anyone that felt left out from the post .

Thanks for your comments , I understand everyone has a bad day ( or Bad weeks in some cases ) but this site has always been guys sharing information about common interests , i beleive if the guy pm,s someone it is because he wants to take the conversation off line so the forum is not clogged with less important issues / questions . I felt that the quickest way for Mr. Robinson to get the information that he asked me about was to pm him as he did to get my attention .I have always been one to help as many people as possible especially on this site . I will say i would have not built the boat if it was not for this site so i feel it is important to help as many people as possible to build the boat they have dreamed about just as we did 4 years ago .

I wasn't trying to be secretive or selfish either, I was just following up, asking for some further detail regarding the Cackler changes Dave mentioned on my other thread. I'm not totally up on this computer stuff so I didn't know if Dave would know he had a PM if I didn't mention it here.
Regarding Tod, no offense taken here. Sometimes dry humor can be misunderstood in an online forum.

Its great to see this informative post at the top again... Since it is, I'll comment further.
You guys have it backwards.... You guys were privately discussing design mods (wich would be hugely interesting to the forum) and publically announcing your private emails.
The forum has been successful for many reasons, one reason is that it serves as a resource to inform and inspire future builders. Those that build, help those building and these discussions generate excitement to build in others.
As a way to give back for the information recieved in the past, I would urge such discussions to be held on the forum, rather than held privately.

I did not intend to offend you nor anyone here by not posting John's question in the general forum section i was merely answering his question . I have been affiliated with this site for quite a few years and have offered my experience when asked weather it is via pm'ing or through the forum format , i will continue to participate in the discussions here and check in everyday because this site is a place for me to stop by and bring an otherwise hectate schedule back into a managable everyday way of life . Life is short and we all have our opinions on how things should go , lets just leave this site to what it was meant for , a place to meet new people and show off our boats and hunting lifestyles .
