Day dreaming - handle inside waders?

I had scheduled all this week off from work, to hunt and putz around. It is a slow time, most folks are out and not much is happening. But the fronts are rolling through with high winds yesterday and today, so I have come to work to save the vacation for better hunting weather.

I love my High n Dry breathable waders, but like all waders handling them when they are folded down is always a challenge. Neoprenes actually seem to stay better then the breathables, as they are stiffer than the breathables.

I actually just sent an email/suggestion to High n Dry to consider some enhancement for future designs. But then I thought of what might be an easy retrofit for all waders. I likely will wait until after the season to try as I will want sufficient cure time.

My thought is to 5200 some soft side of velcro patches (~ 2x3") on the inside of both boots. Then have Mom sew the hook side in the ends of a piece of webbing that would be a removable handle.

What do you think? Crazy idea? Anyone have a better idea?

I don't know if they still do this--I will find out when my pair on extended backorder arrives sometime after duck season ends--but Patagonia's now-discontinued Rio Gallegos waders had a pair of suspenders that were attached at the waist, with sliders on the straps to allow you to adjust the top of the waders from full height under your arm pits to fully folded down near your hips. It was a lifesaver for wading on hot days--and dropping the waders to pee! I could never understand why all the other makers didn't copy the idea.

I've done the same with my current Simms waders by tucking the suspenders inside the waders and just cinching a wading belt around my belly with the upper section folded down. Works fine if you are not terribly active, but tends to ride down if you are walking much.

I put my waders in a wader bag. Rogers has a real nice one. My sitkas go in the bag nicely, and it makes handling them real easy when not in use. I too fold down the waders over the boot. The real reason I got this bag is to keep mud and grime down from the floor boards of the truck. I like keeping my waders in the back seat when in transport. Keeps them nice and toasty when its time to get in them, also helps them dry out a bit more. I actually like these bags from rogers so much, I bought a couple extras to keep gear organized. I keep one for spare jackets and coats, one has all my whites in it for snow goose hunting and another for spare clothes. I always take a spare set of clothes/jackets to the hunts with me. God for bid I get wet, I at least have something dry to get into and im not overly miserable for the hunt or drive home.

Looks like they are out of stock now, but they always come back in stock and ive ordered my sets of bags over many years now.
