Decoy Auction - over 100 duck/goose

Morning guys. I know some of you are into old decoys. I know zero about them, but I do know this guy (who has passed) was a pretty good collector. This auction house is local to me, and I would imagine doesn't have a huge following. Just something I thought you may be interested in ... may be able to steal a few. I have zero affiliation with this auction house, but if this post is not allowed ... just let me know!

edit: This is the 2nd auction they've had for Mr. Lyman. The first go-around there was an unbelievable amount of waterfowl art (pretty valuable) that went for dirt cheap. What I'm trying to say is, I got in trouble with HQ ... but I own a good amount of really neat framed art now.

bids on everything, INCLUDING the decoys seem very low. That may be a good reason for having auctions on site! Some nice looking upper bay stuff available.[huh]

This is the 2nd one I've been a part of. Last year he had some really nice firearms that seemed ridiculously low. They went for what would be expected. A whole lot of the other things auctioned in Round 1 went extremely low. My oldest sister collects mason jars and the likes ... when she saw what some of the antiques went for, she wanted to punch me for not telling her about it.

The nice part about this auction-site is you can put in what you would pay "max", and the system auto-bids for you. The other thing I remember from the last one is the "soft" close. If a bid comes in, bidding is extended for 5 minutes. This keeps going until someone cries uncle. Maybe these are standards, I have no idea.

I may be wrong, but if I had to guess, not too many folks keep tabs on this specific auction site. I hope some of the members here score something, and for dirt-cheap! I'm only giving the courtesy heads-up here ... to you fellas.

Yes, they will definitely ship decoys ... they just hold off shipping Waterford crystal, furniture, etc. I'm in Hayward, WI ... that's where the late Dave Lyman was from as well. He was a pretty knowledgeable collector as far as waterfowl art was concerned ... I'm fairly certain the same holds true for decoys? I would love to know opinions, after the auction ends of course.

Kubarek auction's Office Manager would be the one to contact regarding shipping rates, I just called the owner to confirm that's who you should contact:

Auction is over ... anyone get some deals, or did they go for expected amounts?

I "won" a new side table my wife had to have, and some oriental lanterns she also liked ... yippy! They were dirt cheap though.
