While I was checking out the great suggestions I received on the other post for Duck Boat Building Classes, I came across this Decoy carving class and wanted to share the information.

Sunday, January 24 and Sunday, January 31, 2010
10am-5pm
Fee: $115 members/ $130 nonmembers Join master carver Jode Hillman for an intensive two day class in which students will learn the methods and techniques needed to carve and paint a Delaware River style Blue-wing Teal.Students may choose a hen or drake to carve and paint. Price includes materials fee. Pre-registration required by January 15, 2010.

Having had the pleasure of meeting and hunting with Jode I can tell you I can only imagine this class would be a great time. This is certainly something that would be worthwhile attending.

I own some of Jode's decoys and they are incredible. He told me about the class and when I called over a month and a half ago, they we sold out then. I think the class was sold out like a day or so after they offered it. He's a great carver and the tuiton is peanuts for being able to spend the time with Jode and learn from him.
 
Thanks for the information, I was going to call over today and see if I could attend the class. Maybe I still will and hope someone cancelled.
 
I just spoke with Tuckerton Seaport and the class is filled as was stated. She told me the class filled up before the previous one even started.

They are taking names for a waiting list as Jode said he would host another. They are not sure of the date yet but if you are interested, you should call now. The number is 609-296-8868.
