Hello everyone just wondering what kind of ,paint to use for a gunning rig .Ive heard of people just using house paint flat of course ,thanks for the help

Rick,
For gunning decoys in oil based paint i use lou's flat marine enamel or parkers decoy paint. Latex paint i use walmarts best paint, they can match most any color.
The rule of thumb is...you can use oil over latex but not the other way around. If you repaint your gunners frequently it probably pays to remember what you used the first time. Hope this helps, does anyone have a differing opinion?

I have a funny reply.

For my Diver rig, I use Big Box Store Flat Acrylic House Enamel. It's held up incredibly well over the years.

For my Puddlers, I use a combination of flat oils for the majority of them, with a little high-end acrylics for the details. Then two coats of a good, flat sealer. I've had pretty good luck with exterior concrete sealer, although I've only been using it for a short while.

Pat Gregory is the master when it comes to painting with latex house paint. His methods are quick, simple and effective in killing ducks. I'm working on a half dozen decoys in house paint right now and am once again enjoying the painting process as I once did before a frustrating journey into oil based painting.

Rick,
If you are looking for an oil base, we have the FME (Flat Marine Enamel) in all the colors (pre-mixed) that you'll need. If we don't have something you need, we'll make it. Couldn't be simpler. ;)
Color Chart & Info on the paints is on my website as well as the downloadable catalog.

Let me know how we can be of service.
