Decoy painting and color theory

I attended the Godin seminar at West Lake this year. He talked about getting a middle color and then working darker and lighter. I think I nailed the middle color, even if it is the wrong species

A snake full of baby ducksthat I evicted yesterday from a box two days ago evidently missed one. This guy was swimming alone. No siblings or adults around. I made the rescue, and he has spent today painting with me. That was a sleeping spot earlier
