Jim, I'll be watching this thread with interest. The only two layout boat set-up I'm comfortable with is separate rigs a couple of hundred yards apart. And I'm not a big fan of those if you only have a single tender boat. Having layouts close together, In My Opinion, has risks associated with muzzle control (or lack of it) by the gunners. The single tender concern arises from needing to react quickly if a problem arises and begin able to only be in one place at a time.
That being said, I know some folks hunt with multiple layouts and I'd like to see how they do it.
