Delta Marsh Rig...

Nicely done Pat. That rig and hunt will be legendary.

I remember seeing some of the Ducharme clan and Peter Ward in 1980 at Delta. I don't remember the occasion for the gathering. But even at that time folks were clambering for any stray Ducharme decoys hidden away in barns and boat sheds from Winnepeg to Portage La Prairie. You've done them proud.

Thanks for the kind words guys. As I analyzed and broke down Peter Ward's can hen paint job, it was surprisingly similar to my diver hen paint job. He had good taste! :)

Looking forward to the trip to Manitoba. So far, we have reservations and will be staying at Kirchoffer's Lodge, will be hunting from some vintage, traditional boats on the Marsh and hope to visit with Russell Ward. Lastly, Friday, I was able to purchase much of Robert Gaylord's Delta documentation including his hunting logs. Gaylord was the Chairman of the Delta Foundation at one time and, President of Ducks Unlimited. I am excited and honored to have some of this rich waterfowling history.

Less than 2 months to Delta... Can't wait... Pat

Very cool Pat I think most of the carvers are a little jealous of your trip to the delta this fall. History and carving seem to be intertwined for most of us. Enjoy every moment up there!

Thanks Andrew! A blowtorch can have a wonderful effect on white pine yet, very few people include fire as part of their carving tool box... Pat
