More great shots !! A couple of those birds look to have some hooks on them ! You calling to these birds or just setting up in feeding/strut zones?

That bird on the left is a bruiser.

The would be enough to give Tod and Steve goose bumps...well maybe turkey bumps is more fitting

that third one is great.......pushing and shiving and bumpin.....I love to watch that.......

thanks for posting these Brian.......neat living close enough to them that you see can see them daily, or at least without driving long distances.......

Believe it or not that is a common neighborhood sight in Pittsburgh. I frequently have a couple of gobblers displaying in my yard all spring. A couple years ago I was out turkey hunting in the spring without any success. I stopped at a convenience store about 1/2 mile from my house on the way home to buy some gas. There were seven gobblers strutting around the parking lot and here I am standing there pumping gas in full camo. I'm sure they were just rubbing it in my face.

I'm looking to hunt some turkeys in the Shunk Pa. area this spring. My brother-in-law's father has a cabin and 50+ acres up there. Always see turkeys and grouse when we are up there for long weekends. I got a turkey in Texas last January and I'd love to get a full mount on a big ol' tom.

Oooooo.... The light coming through their tails is very nice. Good catch.

Very nice Brian, thanks for putting those up. I'm in full slobber right now, so it is well recieved for sure.

The turkies on campus are going crazy now and there is one old gobbler that is attacking folks. I was watching out the window as a kid was getting followed by this gobbler for about 75 yards when the gobbler put on the attack and launched himself and attacked from the rear. I had Gus in at work for a meeting and wanted to get me some of that action and found the gobbler on a nice little strut zone in the woods and he attacked me (with Gus on my shoulders) three times, putting on an impressive display before and after. At some point I'm going to get the call when there is a major turkie attack panic on campus and I needed to know how much it hurt to get attacked. He raked me with his claws and wing beat me pretty fiercely. I managed not to squeal like a girl too, so that was positive.

Tod,
Next time have someone video that.

Wow you guys south of the border are so lucky to have such an impressive bird prowling your woods. The wild turkey debate is just beginning here in NB. Maine's restoration of the wild turkey is getting to the point where the birds are starting to cross the international border on their own with many sitings here in NB. Now we just have to convince our gov that a trap and transfer program would be the best, instead of just waiting for them to come themselves. We currently have two NWTF chapters in NB and will be holding a banquet on 26 March in Saint John. Great pictures keep them coming

South of the border! Ha ha!

Bill, I have a camp in Dover-Foxcroft (central Maine) and there are a ton of birds up there. They were reintroduced here in RI a while back and their population is doing great!

Glad you enjoy the pics.
