I'll start this post off this way. I have been sick or injured a lot in my 58 years on this earth. But I'll start from the beginning. I was fifteen years old and a football player in high school. I made a tackle in a game. A player on my side tried to jump over the pile and landed his foot on the back of my neck. This made me paralyzed on the field. They rushed me to a big hospital and I don't remember to much after that. I woke up in the emergency room hall way. And the first thing I saw was a died body. My clothes were cut off of me. Then they came and took me to a exam room. Doctor after doctor I remember seeing. Thank God I didn't need surgery. They hung weights off my head and legs. This went on for days and days. I started feeling my toes and feet after the first day. After about a week or so. I was able to walk and use everything. I Thanked God again. Just before I was discharged, The doctor told me first no football, no lifting, no to just about everything. So I had to ask the doctor Monday is opening day of Duck Season. Are you nuts boy , you are lucky your walking. I was so upset ! I started to cry. Leaving the hospital was great and I was thankful. I had to ware a neck brace for weeks . So to make this long story faster. My good friends said we will take you hunting. They muddied my white neck brace and put grass around it and I sat on the bank opening day. I didn't shot or get any ducks. I was scared I was going to hurt something .But I was happy as could be. Mom and dad were a little upset with me. understandable. But I got to do what I love. My injury could of went the wrong way. Enjoy your life and your health. Nothing is promised to us.View attachment Picture 197.jpg
