Does anybody hunt with a Beretta Extrema2?

I saw a video today on google videos about this gun- it looks deadly. Anyone ever try it on ducks or geese?

Here's the link- couldn't figure out the fancy way to put it in

Yes Chris my wife and hunting buddy have one. I liked them so well I bought one in december. I shoot a lot of skeet and tried it with super light loads and it did great, kicked like a 410. Hunted with it all last split in freezing rain it never failed. This is hard for me to say because I have hunted with a 870 for 20+ years and I never thought anything would be as reliable.

Hi Chris,

My hunting buddy Rick Ketcham just bought two of them (one for himself and one for his son) and he loves them so far. He went through all the new guns and found that he liked the feel, fit and features of them over his Browning Gold and his Super 90 Benelli. The final results will be in next November after he spends the month of October hunting in Montana chasing upland birds, ducks and geese.

Rick will be here in April for turkey and Spring bear and I will get to see & shoot his new gun then.

thanks dave- it looks like it shoots great, is reliable, and worth the cost. I appreciate you sharing your buddy's experience, because I'm comparing it to the Browning Gold, the gun I'm looking into gettting next. (I have an 870) It won't be before next November before I make my decision though- so please keep me posted on how it shoots when you shoot it this spring... Good luck on spring bars!!!

Chris...I grew up on an 870 and only went to an auto about 8 years ago. My first was a Gold which I truly loved, however had some issues with the spring in the stock rusting up and leaving me with a single shot while on a trip to ND. I replaced it with a sure cycle spring system and never had another ounce of trouble. BUT I was already eyeing the xtrema which I ended up buying. Great gun and I shot it well but it took a little getting used to the longer length of pull. She felt good but was just a little too long for me. Once I shouldered the xtrema 2 I knew I had to have one. I've had mine since the beginning of the summer but have probably put close to 1000 rounds through it with absolutely no problem! It shoots like a dream, is easy to clean and very well balanced (not to mention a little shorter LOP). Mine also has the kick-off and it makes shooting the highest dram 3.5's feel like dove loads. While I never notice recoil when pulling on birds I do feel this helps in making better 2nd and 3rd shots because there is less adjustment.

Chris, I don't have an Extrema but my new gun is a Beretta 9301 autoloader. After hunting with Remingtons for the last 17 years I do believe that I've found my gun of choice. Beretta makes an extremely high quality firearm at a reasonable price. Kevin

Thanks, ya'll for your help- I think I'll start saving my change in a jar... then I'll buy an extrema2 they sound reliable, accurate, and fun to shoot.
