DRAKE wader Question

Anyone tried the Drake LST Equader 2.0 waders yet? Wore out my last pair of Drake LST's and looking to replace them. Drake claims to have addressed the issues most were having with the early version of the waders.

Anyone have some feedback? $350.00 is a LOT of money to me to shell out for waders...especially if they're going to fail as quick as many other's did.

Not sure if mine are 2.0 or not but i have hunted a pair of LST's hard for three years with zero isues KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

I have a pair of the drake waders from 2 years ago, the LST's and I hate hate hate them. I cannot stress this enough, they are terrible. the new ones would have to be a whole different animal for me to try them. I know this has NOTHING to do with your question but I just wanted to get it out. I feel better now.

They are the stiffest waders I've evern owned. No matter how much I weat them they dont break in right. They come up too low on the chest and in the armpit area in my opinion. The velcrow straps dont hold as well as buckles. The matterial over the boot area and up the legs and back is tough but REALLY difficult to move in. Thats the bad (which is a lot I know), the good is they are warm, the chest handwarmer poket works well (terrible shape) but warm, and the boots are half way decent. Thats my take on them, I have had Cabela's brand, Macks PW brand, LaCrosse and some off brands and the Drake are by far the worst. I have MANY other drake items and Love them. Matter of fact, my wife bought me a Drake hoodie jacket and it is fastly becoming my go to jacket.

After reading my last post I realized my spelling is 4th grade level at best. I looked at the 2.0 and they come up much higher and the tougher material is just on the shins and butt section. Those are 2 of my biggest beefs that seem to be resolved. I hope the neoprene is a little more relaxed. Overall it does look like they made a drastic improvement

Thanks Matt! I also noted the changes in height under the arms and across the chest. Too, they seem to have replaced the velcro system (doesn't work on my LST's either) as well.

I'm thinking I might go with the investment and try it. STILL waiting to hear back from DRAKE directly to explain their warranty and discuss the changes. It seems they'd be far more responsive to customers seeking information and willing to invest the money in their product.

Mike honestly for the money I still think the Cabelas or LaCrosse are better waders. If you do get the 2.0's let me know how they are. I have a nice pair of the last version size 10 for sale, barely worn ;)

I have to agree with Matt. I was happy with the roominess and after trying on so many brands and flavors, I completely missed that the sides are sooooo low! It's almost like having hip waders with a high chest pocket. The belt loops are showing some serious wear after only one season and the reinforced crotch stitching has torn and seperated in some areas.

I have the MST first version and I am not happy either. They are low in the chest and the velcro shoulder straps are way to long. To make it even worse, I have short legs so I have pull them all the way up and velcro the straps to each other. I think the 2.0 version were a much needed improvement. I still am very skeptical. Mine are just over a year old.

I talked to Drake they will upgrade you to the 2.0 version for 35% off.

Chris,
How did you contact Drake so they offered you that? I can't get a response from their website. One might think they'd be far more interested in keeping customers than pissing them off.

Mike

I cant speak to the Drakes although I like some of their other stuff.
I am 3 years into my 2nd pair of Cabela's Ultimate Hunting Waders in 15 years.
Best waders I have ever owned and with the stout being offered shot guys can get waders that fit.
