Drought Conditions

Drought conditions over most of the US continue to worsen with the exception of parts of the PPP. Also see that the Canadian prairies are getting rain today.
Florida is a dry dry dry, as is the rest of the southeast. Good for turkey broods, not so much for crappie spawn or water supplies for people.

This year is very similar to last year in my area. We were very dry all winter until record rain in May and then back to dry.

Like I have written here before in the turkey thread....I am getting back into sections of my WMA that I never would have considered taking the Chevy down and would have seriously thought hard about taking the FJ down. I would normally be hunting in hip waders but this year it is rubber boots but that is more for snake boot protection than actual worry about my feet getting wet.

water restrictions are already in place and we still have 2 months u til the summer monsoon season. Which is forecasted to be dry

Since I am on well water, I am not sure the county can mandate that but I have wondered how a prolonged drought like this will affect where I am drawing water from. I think my well is only 35 ft deep

NE Iowa has had 7" of rain this month.. and that doesn't count the down pour we just had during the tornado warning within the last hour.

My Gramma texted and let the family know that there are five new wildfires in her county today, none under control when she texted....and she isn't even in the Exceptional Drought conditions that I am. It is going to be a looooooong smoky summer if we don't get some good rain.

Well it never seems to stop raining where I am. I have to mow my back yard every other day. Lakes are up and muddy. Rivers over their banks.
