Duck Boat Exhibit at MN Lakes Maritime Museum

Haven't been around much lately, so I apologize if this has been posted already.

The MN Lakes Maritime Museum in Alexandria, MN has assembled an exhibit of rare and significant duck boats ranging from Dingle, to Larson, to Lund, to Kidney, Mullins, etc. There are over 20 duckboats in the exhibit and a few more may be brought in as conditions permit. It's expected that the inventory may "turn over" during the course of the 2 year exhibit, particularly if some undiscovered boats rise to the surface. The museum itself is stunning and has exhibits of Chris Craft, Gar Wood, the history of Larson Boats, etc.

I've been to the exhibit and it was very very cool. I plan to go back a few more times! Of additional note, when I first started posting here I asked about my grandfather's duckboat . . .

And through the above mentioned exhibit I not only found out that my boat is a "Tipless Hunting Skiff" patented in 1928 and made by the Parkers Prairie Boatworks, the museum also asked if they could put it on display!

Nick,
I remember that post and it is very cool that you found your boats builder. Now you have to set up a web page dedicated to the Tipless special..........

Wish it was closer. My kids like seeing cool boats.

Nick, Really cool! I plan to run up there this summer to see the museum and maybe do a bit of fishing for old times sake. My out-laws used to have a place on Carlos so I spent probably more time on those lakes than any others in Minn. Hope summer finds you and you get to enjoy some of it. If you get down here give me a shout.
