I just want to thank everyone for thier input so far.

I am going to have 4 tabs per rib welded on to attach
the ribs to. This should eliminate any flex on the sides and bottom. Each rib will be
coated with epoxy before I install them.

There also have been some modifications, because the original layout did not have a wide enough space.
It will now be 28 x 56 long. Should be just cozy enough. The front will have a 36 x 24 deck and the back will have
about the same. The sides were going to be 8 in. but had to give up 2 inches to fix my 6 ft 3 frame in the boat.

Keep the ideas coming, they have really be helpful. This is my first build, so I am trying to minimize my mistakes

Ron,

Put in some storage space under your decks. I did that on my jon boat and it's extremely useful for anchors, rope, jackets, etc... You'll be suprised. Also, since you've got wooden ribs, put some shelves in between them so you can put extra shells within reach along with and a cup of coffee. May be add a gun rack/holder on the right side to keep your barrel of the floor. These are just a few things I wish my layout boat had. Good luck.

One more thing with a decked boat that I would find useful is LED lights to see the bottom of the boat at O'clock AM That's if you are going to have a battery in the boat.
