Duck Camp: Progress.

We're moving right along with the duck camp. I did the rough in wiring myself last week, three circuits, one for the inverter (just the lights, ceiling fans, and vents), one for the generator (air conditioner, water heater, battery charger), and a 12 volt circuit for back up lights, nav lights, water pumps, sewerage treatment plant. The guys have got the insulation in this week, and should the paneling up before this weekend. The plumbing is all coming through the floor. So the plan is to install the sheeting, roll out the linoleum floor, install the rough in plumbing, build the bathroom walls, sheet them, paint, then hook up electric and plumbing. We're getting really close and itching to get her out in the marsh. Had some really cool mornings this week, down to 59 here in Hattiesburg, so fall is in the air. I hear they're tearing up the redfish and specks and can't wait to put the hurt on them myself.

Ed,

Just where may you and your buds be floating this marvel of duck camp comfort? Since you are in Hattisburg should I suspect south around Ponchertrain? sp? Somewhere arouind the marsh north of Nawlins?

I bet it gets quit a few second looks once set up and operational. Have fun.

Mmmm redfish.

Nice place. I can't help but relate to the casino's that were built on barges and tied on the gulf shore off of Biloxi when I was stationed at Keesler AFB. Never heard what happened with them during Katrina. So, this thing is permanantly moored and self sustaining right? Except some groceries and fuel for generators I suspect.

Thanks, Dave. Can't wait to be finished with this thing and finally enjoying her.

No Kevin, this will be on the Louisiana Coast right in the middle part of Louisiana, due south of Baton Rouge. We'll be very close to the beach, within a mile or so.

Keir the camp won't be permanently moored, but we'll move it inland, behind some of most humongous levees and locks ever built, 35 miles inland during the hurricane season, and bring it back in fall after the "all clear".
