We had a good tide today. The past couple days have been gale warnings, which blows the water off shore making for a low tide. Jen wanted to get out because she won't be able to go for a while and we had high hopes for the day.

fried oysters tonight, chowder is on the menu for the weekend! Maybe a clam pie too.

Sweet haul! Give me a call when things slow down and fill me in on you time with Min. I've been getting out on the ice every weekend so we're settling for fresh fish :^)

Excellent! Do you make a batter or dredge for the oysters? I have been trying to make a good batter for shrimp, scallops, fish, and clams but have not been able to find a good source for corn flour or real buttermilk, not the powdered junk. I thought of getting another coffee bean grinder and giving some corm meal a few pulses to flour it.

Man, now you got me hungry! Ever eat a fried oyster Po Boy?

Nate

You mean you can't just go to the grocery store for buttermilk? It's always in the stores in Wisconsin. Also for corn flour look in the mexican section or find a mexican grocery store.

Nice haul! Ever consider letting Jen take some pictures?

Now John, If Jen was taking pictures you would have to look at pics of me. I thought I was doing everyone a favor by wearing a mask in the one of me!

I'll let Jen know you woudl rather see pics of me then her!

Hey Scott,

Clams casino is on the menu, you got me inspired to make it.

We are getting dumped on now, but it is supposed to turn to rain, I hope I can get the X500 out before it melts.

Hey S,

Will do, perk fillets are hard to beat. Not a single goose "out there", but lots of my buds and squaks.

Hey Nate,

For oysters I usually dip in egg with crushed in garlic and dredge in bread crumbs (works great with fish too). For fried belly clams, I make a batter like tempura.

On the cornmeal get masa harina from the ethnic section, our grocery has buttermilk, funny that you have a hard time finding.

Good eatin'.

nice work you two. I need to get out and do some digging soon. Making me hungery. Tell Jen that we would much rather see pics of her than you :) I don't know what Catizone is talking about. HHG

We all know Jen is quite the woman. It simply appears Tod does all the yapping and picture taking while Jen does all the work.

attributes as a woman. And, yes, I'm a bit jealous. My Jen loves to go clamming as well, she just draws the line well above 12F!
