the hunt before last we had some rain before the temp dropped to minus 20 Cin the wind chill this is what i found when i went to get ready for the last hunt.

i had had a dozen or so in a fish box a plastic one i use it as a dry box when the tide comes into the blinds well it holds water and ice and decoys,i managed to to break free the rest ,but had to pour hot water outa the kettle to melt the decoy lines out of the bottom of the boat and to be able to put the bung in as well.

I dunno Shermie, common sense tells me that if it's that cold out....I think I would think more along the lines of a MEXICAN duck hunt!

I don't think I'm much different than the average guy....I don't like REALLY cold temperatures. Even down insulated ducks and geese heas south when it gets really cold. I guess Eiders are just too dumb or too warm to care how cold it gets.

When it's 20- it's time to sleep in and sit arounmd drinking hot coffee and carving decoys while watching the Outdoor channel, IMO :^)

It was in the low 30's all day today here, spitting snow and hail most of the day so I put another log on the fire and stayed warm drinking french vallia cappuccino's all day and looking for goodies on eBay!

Now you know us divers hunters have only a little common sense.I have a hard enough time to find someone to go with me.I hunted in the bay last time by meself spent about 2 hours puttin it out and haulin it in by meself. so for the last 4 days ive been hittin the phone list of so called duckin buddies and no one to find to go out to the big ol`blue huntin seaducks wit me so its a little crazy at times to be out there alone so i just moped around home washed all the dekes off and the boat out put it all away for next year,got fed up went out and killed me a pair of rabbits out behind the house,one day, the next me and my 4 year old daughter went out and tried her 410 out on a rabbit it ran away from a head shot ,not enough horsepower in them little things ,i had to tell her i was going out to find it when i get off work after i take daisy to the vet to get fixed.

hey its warming up this weekend to 12 C about 50 sumthin F almost florida weather.no snow here POOR BUNNIES will take it hard now i cant go seaduckin.
me thinks a nite or two at the ol`camp and chasin bunnies is in order...then i can put a log on grab a glass of glenfidich and relax thinkin about the days i could a went huntin lol

I wish I had your weather! We frequently get Iced out before December but tuesday was our last day and we never even got skim ice on the bay. My buddie is in school in Maine and they were still hunting teal at Christmas break. My best days are on the big lake after everything else is frozen. Maybe Next Year!!! Thanks for the posts and pictures
