Even more stamping...

These are the first teal I've feather stamped. They are for a good friend of mine who is assembling a rig of gunning decoys for his son. What a great idea! In 30 years of carving, these are the best teal my hands have made. Heads are Wisconsin white pine and bodies are Michigan white cedar. Pouring lead in the keels today, sealing them, setting eyes then, paint. I thank God for good friends...

I will look forward to seeing that finished product, Pat. Those teal are looking might good. Also it is fun to think that just around the corner is that early season.

Fantastic work, Pat. That flock has a lot of attitude and motion in them. With a puff of wind, the teal will be bombing those beauties this fall.

Fantastic!! Thank god for decoys carvers...

You have to send me full size photos. Can't wait to show Jack the pictures. They are wonderful. The variety of poses and matched stamping really make this a rig. They will float together for many, many years.

This year is Jack's last opportunity to take advantage of the youth hunt. Time sure flys with the kids. I will miss the youth hunts...him anxious and unsure, me worried that the ducks won't cooperate. Nothing for me to do, but let him find his way. But when it all comes together, there is no prouder moment.

Floating those teal for his last hunt, before he moves on as his own man, will be a special memory for us both.

Thank you.

My son is 25 years old now. What doesn't change is, they are still the hunts you look forward to the most. Something special about hunting with your kids... I hope Jack passes them down to his kids on a youth hunt someday based on the good example you set... Pat
