was huntin in canada over the weekend, ducks and geese

sat by the duck rig for four hours in the morning - nothing - got bored and went down to sit by the geese dekes - i no sooner sit down and 4 mallards come buzzin into the duck dekes and land -- put a sneek on em and did manage to get one - but while standing in the water retrieving the duck - 30 geese come over the tops of the trees and land in the goose deekes - and there i am 150 yrds away in the water, mallard in one hand - gun in the other - watching and wondering why me!

but i guess thats hunting -- right place - right time

lol, when I was in Tennessee last week when the action slowed we'd send someone out to look for indian artifacts. Almost within in a minute you'd hear their call and that meant birds were coming or working. It kept the action going all day. Near the end we'd take turns getting out but without not wanting to. Funny how this works isn't it? My point get a hunting partner and send him out!

Yup works a lot of the time. Pee, coffee or stand in the decoys. Pick up early also accounts for lots of flyovers. Maybe it is the motion.....BSEG!

like ya said tea in hand or a sandwhich or a pee [bless my zippered waders for that job]doin dekes ,cursin current dawg in training....or just walking around to stay unfrozen or get the feeling back into your numb stubs of legs forget about feet they left an hour out there you will pick them up on way back to truck..its always the case when you figure what the heck and are fooling around doin sumthin BAM there on ya ,funny i tend to hit them when i dont have time to think about the shot and the times when the easiest shot is in front of ya and have lots of time its scratchin your head time what the heck happened there and the laughing dawg sits up then....heheheheehaw..
