Evinrude model year look up

Evinrude usually has the number tag on the side of the transom clamp bracket. The numbers are stamped into the aluminum tag, so you can probably read it through the paint. If they switched to a printed label you might not be able to read it without scraping the paint off the label. If you still can't read the tag, Evinrude usually also had the model and serial numbers stamped into a core plug or freeze plug in the engine block. I don't have any outboard motors made after the '80's, so there's a chance my information is obsolete.
