MLBOB,
That is all it is for!!! Not structural at all. If i get more than 9" of water inside the boat i have
bigger issues to worry about. Like finding the life jackets!!!

With fiberglass if it broke once, it will break again in the same spot if nothing is changed (this assumes that it wasn't a one-time thing like and impact, but you would have mentioned that). The typical fix woudl be to build it up with glass to a strength greater then origional and to make the patch cover a larger area to counter the stresses that are there. There is for sure some stress there and will break the marine tex free and leave you with a crack again in short order.
If you are 110% sure it isn't structural, put several layers of duct tape over it until next summer then you can grind it out and reglass properly. I repeat, though, if glass cracked, that panel is experiancing some sort of stress at some point.
Tod,
You are correct. There has been no impact at all. I think i will do something quick to fix it for now
and then do it the right way later on. Wish i had noticed it sooner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that location anywhere in proximity to the ends of your trailer bunks? Might be due to trailering the boat and the weight of the motor bouncing while driving down the road. Do you trailer with the motor down and locked? That's what my TDB Seaclass manual recommends.
Jim,
That is exactly were they end!!! But yes i do lower and lock the motor when transporting all the time.
When i get home i am going to take a closer look and see if this could be the issue. If thats the case i
think what Tod said will have to be done and reinforce that whole section.
