Finally in the water

After a LONG summer project, the boat is back in the water. Project tasks:
[*]strip all flaking paint off (inside and out)[*]sand and clean aluminum[*]prime and paint with industrial paint for aluminum[*]spray in bedliner on inside (tan) and on top rail and splashwell (black)[*]weld on splash rails along chine to try to dry the ride out (seems to have worked somewhat in initial testing but didn't have a lot of wave action)[*]prime and repaint bottom of boat[*]install 24V foot control trolling motor[*]install 3 bank battery charger[*]install rear facing flood light[*]recover bench seats

Next year I will redo the fabric blind but I can get one more year out of it as is (and I'm not sure my sewing is up to the task)

she barely fits in the boat house as you can see in the photo. still trying to figure out if I want it in the boat house or in the shop. shop has a trolley that brings it in from the water but it can be a pain when the lake grass covers the rails.

All that is left for this year is to put some brush on it and put the decoys in it.

Thanks the boathouse was a summer project too. the old one was in really bad shape.

didn't realize how well you can see the splash rails that were added in the photo. fitting 2" angle aluminum to the hull shape was an "interesting" process...

Eric, I know you are a field hunter now, but if your out on the lake during season and see me, stop by.

I end up on the lake every so often. If I see you out there I'll definitely pull into your rig. You do the same.

Wow. That's quite the boat and quite the boat house. We don't see too many boat houses on the lakes here in NJ. That is really slick.
