Finally made it out again, and no spinner this time!

First time since the second or third weekend of the season. Fourth time this year I think. It was about 8-10 degrees with a 10 mph breeze from the south with high clouds rolling in from the north. No high flying flocks so that must mean no migrators right Steve? Dang, I must of missed it! Lots of geese, a couple redheads, a couple bluebills, a handful of ringnecks, and gobs of buffies and goldeneyes! I saw one flock of about 20 or so mallards that wanted no part of me. I had 11 mallards and 4 geese out and got one goose to decoy and lots of divers buzzing and that was it. Came home with the goose, a buffie, a goldeneye, and a ringneck! I had a blast with the divers and Xena got 4 retrieves so I'm happy.

My cheapie digital camera froze and wouldn't turn on anymore so these are all I got:

I've been hoping someone would talk about "MIGRATION" this season......

About time......whatcha wanna know?

Steve

It's a wind-powered one and it's old and doesn't spin very well. It takes 20 mph or more to spin that thing. I used it once this year and caught hell for it but I still have it and use it once a year maybe. Most places I hunt are either solid rocky bottom and or too deep to even use it.

Steve,

I like your sense of humor, it really cracks me up.

I wanna know this; where are all the big fat "red-legged" mallards from up north at in WA?! I've shot a few this year but they didn't have red legs so that means they are local, right? :) I also haven't seen the massive overflight of high flying flocks while sitting around the campfire, sipping a martini the night before a hunt at the Eddie Bauer Duck Club in Warden, WA?! Hmmmm...they musta gone somewhere else this year. Oh well, there's always next year!

you wanna shoot some big old REDLEGGED NORTHERNS do you?

Well just launch BELOW I-90 instead of above it...THAT WAY when those Mallards cross over the bridge you can say...."MIGRATION..this one came from THE NORTH......

Or you could spend the money that the State saves you by banning battery powered Moto's on a REAL DUCK HUNT ant a REAL DUCK HUNTING SPOT like one of the LEGAL BAITING SPOTS....you know GO BLOW A WAD IN A CORN HOLE........

Good to see you got out again......

Steve

You're killin' me Steve! I thoroughly enjoy all of your posts! Thanks for all the useful information! I've never blown my wad in a corn hole, but, I'll try anything once! I did once do something similar that will result in an enormous amount of responsibility, lack of sleep, and financial crisis come April of 2010!!!

New Baby next year....

DOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD you are SOOOOOOO SKKKKRRRREEEEWWWEEEDDDD.....

Better get you all the Red Legs you can get before this season closes cause I don't reckon to see your name on the board much next season...and definately there won't be any NEW UPGRADED NASTY DUCKS ON A STICK in your rigs.......

Steve

Yeah, but it's a BOY (Braden Michael) so I'll be back and ready for anything you can throw at me in about, oh, say 10 years?!

Not trying to distract from your original post... but Congratulations!! Glad you are getting out while you still can.

You may not have used a spinner this time but the way in which you set up those decoys was all wrong.......

Looks like a great day to have been out hunting. Wish we had the opportunity this year to hunt in similar weather. Next year.
