finished building my duckboat

I am curious... why did you choose to paint the boat that color? In the photos it looks very yellow. I wasnt sure if your local vegetation is close to that color. Most guys paint their boats olive drab...

Gilles,
Nice lines on the hull, what material did you use,how long and wide? Are you going to layout in it?Good job.
Bill.

Nice job Gilles. I've built 5 of those at the 12 foot length. It will surprise you how sea worthy it is. I like the way you built the stern. good idea.

Hi there. I painted it the same color as the fall bull rushes I'm going to tuck it into. I thought it woud be a good way to start. Haven't decided how I'm going to grass it up, and I'm still trying to figure out how to make a spray skirt for it.

it looks great, can you tell us how it handles on the water and do you think you could hunt two adults and a dog out of it?

Chris it will handle pretty much like a traditioal bbsb. The biggest difference with this boat is that it does not have clean swept chines but regualr sides. What that does is allow for the use of plywood instead of cedar strips. It really is a nice little boat, but 2 hunters and a dog will be an overload.

Very nice, classic looking duckboat. She's a beauty. I know you'll enjoy her for many years to come.

Ed.
