The same lakes that were iced up last weekend were open this weekend, so me and Mac got out a bit even though there was a nasty cold wind all weekend.
We tried last night in float tubes for stocked rainbows and caught a couple of little guys. On the way back about 11:30 we saw a huge smoker of a grizzly on the road and I could have had him easy if I hadn't of tagged out last year. (one every 3 years here) No good pictures though, sorry.
This morning we decided to give it a try in the boat and this was Mac's first good fish of the summer. He trolled for about 10 min before he hooked up. I was really proud of him the way he played her in. He was using 8lb test and when I weighed her in the net she was just over 18lbs. At 38" long she was a fatty for up here. Full of eggs maybe. We let her go, but Mac snapped a few pictures first. He says we're having a contest this summer. : )

I figured we'd have a hot day after a start like that, but even though he had a few follows, the fish were slow and I got skunked! We only bonked one little guy for lunch.
Lots of wildlife this weekend, but no pictures. 12 sheep (rams I think), 3 ditch caribou, 1 ditch grizzly, 3 ditch porcupines, a coyote, and a brown hare. Mac said he'd never seen a brown snowshoe hare before so I think he was more excited about that than the bear!
There is an eagles nest down by the water at Jane's cabin so me and Meg went down there to sit a bit this AM and watched one bring the other one grass and stuff. Pretty cool. We left them the fish guts.
I'm wiped.
Where's all those Memorial Day pictures of hot chicks in cut-offs?
