First efforts at Silicone Molding - Assembled Coot!

Randal, the keel weights are from a real nice 2 piece mold that Rufus Brinn owns..... they are about 8oz each. I rubber banded it to the decoy to figure the position and it looked good in the sink! Once coated and painted, I'll float a couple and see if they are the final configuration.
 
that really work nice. amazing the info we have at our finger tips these days. internet, youtube and all. thanks for posting the results.
 
I use a barn bucket Karen bought for her horse. The horse snapped the polypropylene handle off it and cracked it. I cut it down a bit. I fill it with water, lay a dry cleaner bag over it and float birds in it. I determine the initial balance point by propping them across my index finger one way or the other until they balance, and then mark this spot as the balance point, float the bird with taped-on weight and adjust attitude from there, fore and aft and side-to-side.
