flocking off in the shop. What glue?

I spent yesterday flocking goose heads yesterday. The process involved cooking off any mold release with a propane torch, painting on black glue, and squirting flock on with a bottle similar to a catsup squirt bottle. The flock stuck to the cheap shells purdy good, but it rubs right off of the six floaters I did. I'm out of glue, but have plenty of flock left.
Does anyone know what type of glue is used for these flock kits? I think my floaters are flamboe (sp?). I may try sanding them and flocking again. Anyone have any advice on getting the glue to bond to the floater heads? The shells don't look quite as good as a factory flock, but a hell of alot better that plain plastic. I know that this stuff would probably work darn good on wood decoys, but I have too many irons in the fire now to start wittling decoys, especially goose.
I'd tell you what brand of stuff I'm using, but I forgot the paperwork in the shop. I'll try to remember the next time I go out. I'll let you know how it stands up to weather, goose season reopens this weekend in northwest Oregon.

Use Rustolium, oil based flat black paint. (not glue)

After I did mine, I used them a few times and the loose flocking came off. Took them back into the basement and put a second coat of paint and flocking on them. now they look great.

Good luck.

Thanks, I have a flocking kit but haven't used it yet. Thanks for the heads up, now I will get after it when the time opens up.

This group is the greatest. I knew someone would have experience with this. I'm off to get some rustolium. Thanks.

Matt,

before you brush on the rustoleum, spray on some Bulldog adhesion promotor (from walmart auto dept), it will help the paint stick to plastic. it dries in no time and leaves a clear glossy finish that you just paint over.
fusion paint may work better on plastic than rustoleum...and you may not need the adhesion promotor since Fusion is made for plastic. i've never used it though.
