Florida Duck Hunters

yup there are a couple of us on the forum from FL...I'm more northern FL, but hunt all over the state

where in central FL are you located?

Hey Frank, oddly enough I am now in Gainesville, FL. Just moved from Gloucester,VA. Moving from Glass to G-ville has given us an intense case of culture shock. -J
 
Hi Florida hunters. I am in Sebastian, Florida on the east coast. I was born in West Virginia at the height/depth of the depression. (dad was a mountain man, but in the Navy ) Moved to Florida in 1938. I wound up in Sebastian after working my way north for the last 50 years or so. Lived in Hallandale (grandpa had a citrus and cattle spread on the Broward/Dade County line) Now 75 and slowed way down, but I still get out from time to time. I have a boat building shop beside the house and know most commercial fishermen around here as I have repaired a lot of their boats and motors. I haven't carved for a long time, but once made cork and hollow wood decoys. If I could get tupolo gum I would still make a few heads and fasten them to foam bodies. Well you live about 20 miles from me Frank, and just south of some of the best duck hunting in the country. You have many neighbors who are hard core waterfowlers too. Welcome back.

It is a pleasure to meet you. I grew up on the Chesapeake and moved here from Louisiana. I had withdrawels last year then I got to hunt here in Mulberry and had one of the best hunts in my life.It really opened me up to Florida duck hunting. Now I need to find some of my own spots. I have all the gear boats blinds decoys etc. Just need to explore I guess.

Frank, yep VIMS. Did a good amount of hunting on the Ware, Severn, winter harbor and spots in between.
