Foggy day hunt

Not the best day for pictures ,, but

Hunter and I went out with a couple buddies an explored some new country today, in a total fog bank, anyway after several hours of checking some different areas out we settled on a spot to set up at and were able to shoot some cans,redheads and a couple lesser scaup and ring necks.

Well, any day that three drake Canvasbacks are taken by three hunters is a good day.

I know what you mean about the lousy fog, it has been foggy and cold and without a breath of air since November out here on the west side.... Not cold enough to freeze up the ponds,
just cold enough to freeze the water in my waders.

you guys get to move and still see a bird! And three cans to boot. Great day for sure. Boat looks like it fits the crew without a problem.

Looks like a great hunt Fred...great job with them Cans. Remind me please what your new boat is...I can't see it under that pile of grass.

Thanks Guys, Chuck I had posted some picts of the new boat as it was under construction and as finished but un grassed.


Farrukh if you ever want to try for cans out here your just a plane ride away, always have room in the boat for an east coaster!!


It's off with the wife for shopping today,,,, then I'm off for the next 3 weeks for hopefully more duck action!!

Even if all you got was those 3 cans, it would have been a great day!

great job.I personally love hunting in the fog,nothing like having a bird suddenly appear locked up dropping into the dekes.
 
Fred- post up some more pics of that awesome boat of yours. Not many here have seen a boat custom built (out of alloy) for the wide arrays of uses you get out of it. Its a sweet rig- I think you should brag about it a bit more.
