Paul Rutgers and Mike Trudel, here are some more hunt pics gunning with Jim. I thank that God He saw it fit to put our lives together. Waterfowling is about the friends you make, the times you share and the memories you keep.

Enjoy each one of them and God bless! Pat

Thanks for the pictures Brother!

I never get tired of seeing Jim's work, but more importantly, Jim and his enthusiasm for carving and HUNTING top quality decoys is quite contagious. While I like his decoys, I like Jim and his stories even more. He's first class all the way!

Those are some really nice looking decoys there. Who is Jim? He can come hunting with me anytime. That is if he brings those blocks.

Jim Schmiedlin. Did I spell it right? They especially look great on the water. Nice pics Pat................................Kevin

I just took a look at the auction site. Holy moley. That is some big bucks for a used decoy. For that kind of money, I would prefer to have a decoy without a crack in it. Does he still make decoys?

All I can say is wow.

Jim is still making decoys, but they are next to impossible to get. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the hammer will fall above the estimate on that merganser.

I met Jim at the Westlake Decoy show last year and he allowed me to photograph the decoys he had at the show. Nice fellow, and his decoys are astonishing and surely classic even before the oils dry.

Here are several of the photos which are on the Westlake 2008 CD, which is now available.

If I were to hunt over a spread of blocks like that, I dont think I would ever shoot a duck...........I would be to busy looking at the decoys:)

I consider myself blessed to say I shot over Jim's merganser rig about 15 years ago. He
was in town and hunting with a few friends of mine. We were only allowed 3 ducks that year
and I got mine early. These guys had been shooting a lot so I stopped to see what was going on.
(they are all good shots)
They were shooting mergansers and asked if I wanted in. They were double boxed and when
we got to the rig I couldn't believe my eyes. I was almost afraid to shoot but was assured a
STRAY pellet or 2 only enhanced the decoys value! I got some sawbills but will never forget
lying in that box and watching those decoys dance on the bay.
