Frickle sneak boats

No, but I do have a picture of a Bob Fricke sneakbox:

Love it. Bob makes a great boat. Really nice and knowledgeable guy as well. Mine is an all cedar boat, he usually builds them cedar with marine ply decks.

Thanks for the nice pics. Could you post any pictures of the cock pit area and have you had your boat in any rough water? I'm trying to make a boat choice and I like different features from different sneakboats but for all the times I hunt by myself boat weight is the big issue and also not getting swamped if I have get back across the bay when turns bad. Thank for the info fellas.

I've not had her in any rough water. I was waiting on summer weather to start pushing the limits.

I opened the cockpit up to make room for the dog.
This was one of his 1st 12 boats.
The ones he has built since are deeper and have a plywood deck.
Bod told me they are good in 3' seas. The one he had a tuckerton last year was open like mine for transporting a dog too.

Thanks Dave, the raw finish looks different.

Craig- did you make the canvas dodger or is that burlap? It lools like you have fasteners to fit a larger dodger. Cool boat!

I had a canvas guy in Tuckerton, NJ make me the box canvas. The boat came with a traditional-style dodger that I do not use. That is what the other snaps are for.

That's a shot before it was painted with the other canvas on it. Pretty boats before they are painted...

I run a 15hp yamaha two stroke on mine. Everyone I know hunt out of sneakboxes and they all run 15hp on them.

I've got a 15 HP Yammie, I need to get the fin on it so I can jump up on plane. I Also tried my 6.5 beavertail and we went along about 6 .4 mph.

No plans. You have to order one. Mine is hull # 50 and was built in 2000 and my dad had hull # 12 or so and that was in the early 80s so you can tell he only builds a few a year. I get up on plane fine with me without a doelfin, I just run my gas tank and any other gear up in front of the cockpit to balance the boat out. Be careful if you use the doelfin, my father had the original, less deep, fricke and ran it with a fin once, caught an edge and almost got thrown out of the boat.
