G3 Boat quality/issues

Okay guys here we go again. I decided to pass on the outlaw18 and I am now looking at a 2003 g3 1860ccdlx.
Have any of you heard anything wrong with the g3 boat hulls I should look out for???

Let me know
Thanks Camoman

I have only heard good things about them.
I dont get a semi-V and go back with a mod-v when I buy a boat next year, I will get the G3 1548 DK.

Hey John,
I have a G3 1548VBW jon and have been very happy with it. I have no complaints about it at all. I went whole hog and got an electric start Yamaha to go with it. I put a floor in it. I like the one Carl is looking at - has the camo and floor already in. Floats in very shallow water, and is pretty durable.
Got mine at Spring Garden Marina:

Good luck,
Dave

In all my online lurking, I've only come across one complaint on a GIII and it had a lot to do with their customer service. EVERY boat brand is going to take a knock "occasionally", I tend to judge it the rule of thumb, and the rule of thumb for the GIII is good!!! Have a buddy running a 17' right now and is VERY pleased with it and he researched the heck out of it.

Hi John,
I owned a G3 and it was built like a Patton Tank. All welded but a bit heavy for me. Put a pop up blind on it that served me well until a guy wanted it worse than I did. Wish now I hadn't sold it.

Don't think you can go wrong with a G3.
JMO,
Harry

Harry & Ross thanks for the comments!
I too had not heard much about this brand so I just thought I would ask!!!!
Looks like it may be a keeper!

I hauled a 17 footer ( don't remember the model but it ws supposed to be the real gee whiz model, something like 18 thousand bucks) I thought it was junk. The hull welds were poorly tack welded about evey foot or so on the keelsons and splash rails and every thing on the inside of it, console, seats and floatation chambers was pop rivited. This was a new boat off the showroom and was hauled for the USCG. It did meet USCG requirments as far as floatation, capacity, etc. Just my thoughts. I know a lot of guys that like them. Look on E-Bay if you are really serious. Ther is a dealer over near Farmville that used to sell his stock on E-Bay.

I bought my G3 #2072 in 4 year ago and use it for seaduck hunting on Long Island Sound.
I don't have any complaints about the boat, it has with stood a beating from me and the elements and still going strong.

Major woods thanks!
The boat I am looking at is a 1860DLX a bit smaller than yours!
I hope it hunts bigger than it is. I have never sea duck hunted before and hope to this year!
Thanks for the comments!

John,
I do not own a G-3, however one of my hunting buddy's own an 18' G-3 with a 90HP Yamaha on the rear. I believe he bought it in '04 or '05. Since he has owned it, the weld that runs along the bottom corner of the boat has been re-welded at least twice to my knowledge, not from hitting anything, but from stress alone. Several of the rivits in different areas of the boat have popped out. The paint on the boat is almost totally worn away, at least on the inside. On the flip side, the boat moves on the water. It can handle a lot of gear and it is pretty comfortable. The boat, in my opinion is a pretty light boat, as compared to some of its competitors as well. Granted my buddy puts it through some abuse as he uses it almost everyday for either fishing or hunting. In my opinion there are some much better built boats on the market, unfortunatly with the better quality comes a higher price. Just my 2cents.
