Looking at the boat it look's like it would work for me. But I have a few ?'s . One, what is the draft. Two, build tip's and or input on the boat . Thanks, Drew
I built a 12 foot version of the Gator Duckhunter to be moved in a pickup. Worked out pretty well.
Just stick with the plans and you will have a very nice boat well suited for clam waters and moderate speed. The duck hunter poles/oars well too.
Spring for the good plywood. I used BCX and stored it outside. :-( It is checking pretty bad and will wind up on a firewood rack.
Get on the Southern Sporting Designs site. You will get information overload by searching the posts. Having a very clear idea of what you want out of a boat will be the most important thing you can do. It is very easy to get carried away with adding in all the bells and whistles. The bells and whistles are the fun part though...
I believe draft is the depth the boat sinks to in the water.
