Gear inquiry: frame pack deke bag?

Good afternon all.

I am wondering if anyone has any product knowledge of a deke bag that is built on a frame pack foundation? I cover a good deal of ground in my walk-ins and would like to maximaize the load and minimize the fantastic instability and discomfort that comes from walking with a full load in those mesh bags (with or without their so-called 'waist belt'). I have heard tell of such things, but so far i have come up short in phone calls to my local shops and quick Google searches.

In the past I have lashed a deke bag onto a frame pack and gotten pretty good stability and comfort, but the carrying capacity is limited to the bag size/frame size. Cabela's Splash Ultimate Floating bag is close- but it still seems small for a dozen full bodies and a couple doz full size floaters.

Thanks for the thoughts/help.

Geoff, can you use a 2 wheeled cart? I strap a bunch of decoys and gear on my deer cart, and can pull that through some real nasty stuff. If tied on right, you can even float them through water too deep for the cart alone. Dave

Doesnt have a frame but I bought two of the Splash bags from Cabellas. Yes they wont hold the full bodies like you want but they do hold quite a few decoys.

I hiked a ton when I lived in Minnesota and they kept the decoys from hitting your calfs. Plus they have comfortable straps and chest support to keep the weight distributed. I also loved the gun pocket and mojo duck carrier

Here is my brother in the field still room in there for a few more decoys. I have 24 in there and still room for more

Wow...your brother looks THRILLED to be hauling the pack out....bwahahahahahahahaha...that's what brothers are for

Yep it was a long day and even a longer walk. I had one my back too plus the limit of ducks. This was 4 months after he had an accident falling 30 feet out of a tree. So he doesnt carry the load he use to.

I made my own about 10 years ago. My bag had ripped so I purchased some curdura for one side and reused the mesh for the other side of the bag and sowed on loops so it fit right on the pack frame. I could fit about 30 standard decoys in it. It was about a 1.5 mile hike into where I hunted at the time. I later bought a golf cart at garage sale and with a slight modification I was able to strap the bag to it easily. Much better than carrying it. I could cart it most of the way. I have since looked for a product similer to what I made and have yet to find one.

Neal: my first thought was not the cart cart, but the electric car version cart. with a bag of dekes. and giant mud tires. i like the idea of rigging some type of cart. Time to try craigslist.

thanks for the help all.

I suggest attaching a big decoy bag to an army surplus Molle pack frame. They're light, adjustable to any size person, and have a real comfortable harness. The only thing I don't like is the top "cross bar" is V shaped, and tends to hang on brush.
My buddy has been using his two wheel game cart to haul all his bigfoot goose decoys on. I have one now too, and I'm building a box out of plywood to fit it, as my only gripe with these carts is everything has to be strapped down. Oh yeah, the spokes are chrome plated, I don't like that either.
