Because I won a 3 day Waterfowl hunt to Manitoba Snows for 2 on Sept 24, 25, 26. Ducks and Geese on opening week I believe. All expenses paid except shells and airfare.

United Waterfowlers of Florida did a raffle on a trip donated by Kris Wujcik, Michitoba Outfitting, for a good friend, super nice guy, and family man down here in FL that has cancer. David Blood is one tuff fellow and he's got everyone down here prayin for him.

I plan to earn my keep and make this trip come to life with the cameras. I can't wait. Can you tell I'm thrilled.

Hitch,

Sounds like a great trip. From what I've heard about the forms you have to file and the good chance of losing a gun though all the scrutiny from our highly educated airport security it might be easier not to mention cheaper to rent one from your guide when you get there. Of course I only know about this from my brother-in-law that got a firearm back after being lost for two weeks after his flight home and he had to claim it from the local police station because the hinges were ripped off his $200.00 flight case.

I'll be looking forward to pictures.

Congrats Hitch! Taking a shotgun in to Canada isn't much of a problem..go to the MLB site and look in the info sections. There is a form you have to fill out in triplicate...just do it once and printout 3 copies..when you get to Canuck Customs they will ask if you have anything to declare...tell them Steve's wife has a nice butt..they will take you into a little room..really you just tell them you have a gun and they look at it and the 3 papers..you sign the papers in front of them..pay them 50 bucks and off you go. Getting it back INTO the States you will need a little form from OUR Customs showing you own the gun and aren't smuggling a shotgun INTO the USA FROM Canada. No big deal..just get it at customs at the airport.

lee i hear its eighty bucks now to bring a gun into canadia, im going to ontario in nov for deer and the guy setting up our trip told me this. not sure tho. itd be better if it was fifty.

Congrats Hitch. How are those boys down there at United Waterfowlers of Florida doing these days?

you going to be near winnipeg? passed through there in the fall on deer huntin trips --- feilds are black with geese!!!!!!

Man Hitch, I'm honored and speechless that you've invited me! What can a guy say about someone he's never met, but always wanted to hunt in Canada with? You're a true pal!

Best regards, your best buddy....

Ed,

Is that $80 going into canada and $80 coming back to the US?

Sheesh, with my cheap deer rifle, I'd be better off just buying one there...

Charlie, that's just a tax for the Canucks. The hunting business up there took a huge hit when they implemented this nonsense. It was 50 bucks Canuck the last few years..good for 60 days. The thing from the US is free and ya better have it cause they can take your gun if they are feeling tough. The first 3 years I had it, they never asked for it..after 9-11 they started asking to see it.

see form above regarding cost --- no cost to get back into u.s. - but you better have the firearm decleration or there will be
heck to pay with u.s. customs

Thanks guys for the help, but I can't get the links to work.

Sorry Nate, not you... nice try, bad guess.

I just tried the links on the MLB site and they aren't any good any more...hmmmm..conspiracy by the Canadian government to keep us cowboys from being armed in their country? See if you can get on the Canadian govt website and look for the CFC (canadian Firearms Council).
