Gordy has a cut on his pad rear foot.. advice?

Andrew,

Sorry, my bad. In my ignorance I thought e-collar meant a shock collar.

I have an Innotek shock collar for Titan that we used as a training aid when he was younger. I'd never heard of the cone thing you posted by that name.

I thought it was kind of harsh to shock a dog for licking, and then to go to a bigger shock collar just sounded cruel.

Again, sorry about that.

Charlie

We usually bandage them and put em on antibiotics. You can also use the neoprene booties, although they can be tough to keep on while in the mud and water. Be sure to use a stirrup on your bandage or it will fall right off. Suturing them is genewrally a waste of time in my experience as Lee eluded to earlier.

Dont worry, he will be at it again real soon. If you can keep a booty or bandage on it, sooner!

Shock Collar!!! Now that's funny.I thought he just misnamed the cone type collar vets use to keep dogs from licking.

dave, baby socks are the I T thing for dog feet, along with adhesive tape--the collar will work well , too!

Hey,

Try padcoat from vally vet. It works great on my Brittneys. It is like a stain for wood, it soaks into the pad and seals it. It will stain anything it touches purple so make sure its dry or you are outside before letting him up to walk around. Here is the website : Dog Products @ ValleyVet.com

Good Luck,

Jamie
