Got Sprigs?

I love it when a plan comes together.

First hunt for my Pintail corkers and they've drawn blood.

Well sort of, could have been the other 65 decoys too!!

I thinks sprigs are making a comeback, even if a small one. 20% of the birds I have taken this year have been pintail. They always seem to brighten a day.

i'll have to say the same, got my first this year and then had to wait for other ducks to come in while 4 hen or imature sprigs sat in the decoys.

Sprigs would be great but having more than the few blind shy gadwalls that we have would be better!!!
Nice sprig and even nicer decoy, great job.

Hey Dave, Nice job, on the decoy and the bird! What are you, some kind of purist that can't use a plastic bucket like the rest of us? Great picture too. Chuck

Trust me, that pintail had plenty of plastic friends that day, and will have them for many days to come.

Just finished 3 more, gotta put the keel on one of them, hopefully in time for Saturdays return to the pintail grounds.

I brought up the subject of pintails at the members meeting of the Va waterfowlers meeting last Tuesday. Several of the guys said they are seeing more every year.

I got to thinking about the last pintail I shot. I can't remember what year it was but they were still 10 point birds.
