Grayson Chesser Book

I may be going crazy but at one time wasn't there a list or post by someone on this forum to sign if we wanted to get a signed copy of Grayson Chesser's 2nd Edition of Making Decoys the Old Century Way? I use to browse quite a few forums but I'm thinking it had to have been this one or the MLB site. The reason I ask is because I forgot all about it until I just ran across a copy while browsing Ebay. If so... what happened? If not... slowly back away...

That book came out last year. Send me an Email and I'll give you the link I saved that someone posted. It's a link to the publisher. Not sure if I should post the link here?

Sutton was trying to talk Grayson into getting the publisher to run a limited number of hard backed books that Grayson could sign. That was the list folks asked to be added to. I would guess that the publisher said no.

Go ahead and post the link to the publisher.

I should have posted this link some time ago when I found it. I had asked Steve and it seems the publisher would not do hard covers, like he was hoping for, without a lot more pre-orders so that deal didn't work out. Still not a bad price considering what the first edition goes for.

I would still like a signed copy of the new book. I have an earlier book "Decoys The Art of the Wooden Bird" 1982 That is an excellent book.

I have a copy of the first book and you wouldn't believe how much I paid. Got it off of a clearance shelf in a bookstore in Delaware. Anyway, please forgive my ignorance but is this just a re-issue of the first book or is there new, additional materials that are not found in the first edition.

Thanks.

kyle... unless you were just wanting it to put away as a signed book.. you aren't going to learn much from it--you already know how to do what is shown in the book. I didn't get anything from it. I don't understand all the hype. It's great if you want to carve and paint like grayson.

Thanks y'all. That's all I wanted to know.

Jeff - You're right on just wanting a signed copy to put up as a collectors piece. I actually got a copy of the first book about 3 years ago when I first started carving for $60 including shipping on Ebay. Being in college and paying $120-150 per book I felt it wasn't a bad deal... later started seeing that thing go for $175-200 on Ebay and probably should have sold it to make some quick bucks. I guess the days of high prices are over.
