Great South Bay Puntie?

Got out an old book and saw a boat I've always wanted to build. It is in Duck Shooting in the
Great South Bay chapter. This section was written by Eugene Connett and has always been a
dream of mine to build one. It is described as a flat bottom puntie with the bow enclosed and
a flat after deck to carry decoys on. Does anyone know how this boat is built? I thought of
modifying some Kara plans but woul like to build to origional plans if possible.
There is a great painting by Lynn Bogue Hunt titled Bluebill Hunting From a Thatched Puntie
that got my interest 40 years ago.
Thanks for any help, John

Those boats were old 50 years ago, the builders are all dead and I doubt they worked from formal plans, thus the variety of the type.
You can still find one now and then here on the Island. They are narrow, and were shoved to the gunning location, and not inherently seaworthy like a BBSB, they were never designed for a motor so they went out of favor, at least the Scooters could sail on the ice and remain somewhat popular to that crowd. They aren't all that complicated and if you can find enough pictures you can probably get real close if you want to try building one.
Your basically talking about a skinny, cut down, flat bottom skiff with a top deck and cockpit.
I know this isn't much help, but these things were ancient back in the old days. :)
